One Of The Longest Running In the Country at 35 Years!

For beginners through competitive, ages 7 and over.

Overview

A Different kind of camp: Wisconsin Porter is like no other.  It is the perfect combination of a gymnastics/sports camp and a traditional summer camp.  For two magical weeks each August we rent a traditional summer camp with all of its staff, set up 8,000 feet of equipment and bring up 45 additional gymnastics and cheerleading staff to accommodate 150 campers.

Gymnastics Facility:
Our primary workout area is under two 100-foot circus tents.  With the walls rolled up, we have a unique, open-air workout environment.

Equipment:
We have an abundance of the latest equipment including tumbling-traks, inground trampolines and an array of exceptional teaching aids.

Staff: Our professional staff has over 125 combined years of gymnastics experience.  They come from schools, colleges, clubs, city recreational programs and YMCA's.  85 percent of our staff members return every year.

Program: We are proud of the educational contribution Porter Camp has made over the last 35 years, both for athletes and coaches.  Our coaching is based on save, progressive gymnastics so an athlete is comfortable learning new skills.  We pay special attention to every camper.  At Porter, a beginning recreational gymnast is going to have fun learning, and a high-level competitor will feel challenged and develop the expertise to pursue and master new skills.

Location: Our camp is located at Chippewa Ranch Camp, eight miles west of Eagle River on Dam Lake.  Chippewa is American Camping Association certified.  Its facilities include a beautiful, well-equipped beachfront, stables, tennis  courts and a 50-foot climbing tower with a 300-foot zip line.

Meals: Food is healthy and plentiful.  There is fruit, salad bars and choices for picky eaters or campers with special needs.  Meals are served in a large dining hall overlooking the lake.

Cabins: Our cabins vary in size which helps to accommodate different groups.  Each cabin has bathrooms and showers.

Activities: There are a wide variety of activities for campers: horseback riding, waterskiing, tubing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, wind surfing, tennis, rock climbing and zipping, archery, arts and crafts and tramp-ball.

Value: We have yet to find another camp that offers a balanced experience with an assortment of quality and first-rate facilities for reasonable prices.
